Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen started to work on Vietnamese text processing in 2000.
She obtained the PhD degree in 2006 at the University of Nancy I, working on linguistic resources and tools for bilingual text alignment (French – Vietnamese) under the supervision of Laurent Romary, an activist in the domain of language resource management.
She is a pioneer in building shared linguistic resources and tools for Vietnamese text analysis. For several years, she has been a key member of the Vietnamese board for Language and Speech Processing (VLSP). In 2020, she became the first president of the Association for VLSP.
She has contributed to many projects for building Vietnamese lexical, syntactic and semantic resources and tools for the VLSP research community.
Since 2012, she has been organizing co-chairs of five editions of the international VLSP workshop series in Vietnam.
She is currently interested in Vietnamese semantic analysis and medical text processing. She gives courses in natural language processing for undergraduate and Master students in Computer Science, and in computational linguistics for undergraduate students in Linguistics at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
